Nothing worth writing about today except HOPE

There are so many things to hope for in this world, we hope that the sun will be out to warm our faces and our hearts, we hope for friendship, or a relationship, we hope to continue well in relationships that we do have, we hope for the future, we hope for a job, or a family, or for the family we already have. We hope for peace and for happiness in the world and for ourselves.

To me hope embodies happy feelings, anticipation of good things, and zest for life.

Hope—what it does to my soul when I feel it! Hope—what it does for the world when we act on it!

Hope is the great motiviator. Is hope not the very logo of organizations driven by the desire to find a cure to a terrible disease, or the reason people will run in marathons and to the point of sheer exhaustion in the belief that thier contribution to the cause could make a difference. Even the reason that some give up all that they have and love to travel around the world to help people that have no way of helping themselves. Hope invites us to act in a positive way to find happiness for ourselves and other around us.

But what happens when we lose hope? Then doubt creeps in and if we entertain thoughts full of doubt eventually despair will take over. A place where hope cannot be found. It seems clear, then, that when hope leaves us, despair ensues. For me, to live in despair is not to live. I cannot imagine life without hope. Perhaps this is because I learned from earlier experiences in my life that hope is a personal quality, one that does not just appear but must be found, and even developed. It is essential for happy living.

Don’t defer hope. Don’t put it off, postpone it, or delay it. Proverbs 13:12 states, “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick.” [Prov. 13:12] How true. Physically, emotionally, and  even spiritually, when we refuse to look for and find even a glimmer of hope it sickens our hearts. To prevent that illness, grab onto and hold onto your hope. Once you have a hold on it don't ever let it go.

To all of my friends who's recent days have been covered with dark clouds, don't despair. Look up, grab on and hold on. The sun will shine again bringing with it warmth to your faces and comfort and peace to your hearts. There is always hope. Hope that your heart can heal, hope of a reunion, hope that there is something more than what we already know here. It is a gift to us from above.
